The Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1573 filed a no board report with the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD).
This places ATU Local 1573 in a legal strike position as of 12:01 am on Friday, May 23, 2025. In the event of a strike, all Brampton Transit services will be temporarily stopped and no buses will be running. The public is encouraged to plan alternative travel arrangements.
The City of Brampton remains committed to negotiating a fair, multi-year agreement that acknowledges the contributions of ATU Local 1573 employees and their dedication to maintaining and operating our frontline Brampton Transit services, while ensuring fiscal responsibility for Brampton’s residents.
In the event of a strike, all Brampton Transit services will be temporarily stopped. During a strike it is recommended residents make alternate travel plans.
The City of Brampton and ATU Local 1573 representatives remain committed to reaching an agreement to avoid a strike.
