Founded in 1994 by Parks and Recreation Ontario, with the support and endorsement of the Province of Ontario, HIGH FIVE® is a national quality standard for recreation and sport for children aged 4 to 12. HIGH FIVE® is based on five principles of healthy child development and graceful aging. Through research, staff development, training, resources and participant feedback this accreditation enhances credibility and supports ongoing operational excellence.

Brampton joins the list of more than 400 HIGH FIVE® organizations serving more than 1 million participants across Canada. The City of Brampton is steadfast in offering the HIGH FIVE® standard of quality in recreation programming and requires all Recreation division staff working with children aged 4 to 12 to complete HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD) training. The training provides participants with nationally recognized certification supporting the City's accreditation status.

The City of Brampton remains committed to ensuring its wide range of recreation programs and amenities continue to meet the evolving needs of residents and users. Through program assessments and ongoing staff development the City continues to improve the quality of recreation and sport programs. Feedback from residents is integral to delivering high-quality recreation amenities and the City is always looking for input at any time during or after programs. Feedback can be provided by highfive@brampton.ca.
