Diverse suppliers and social enterprises are eligible for the City of Brampton's Supply Chain Diversity Program.
A diverse supplier is a business that is at least 51 percent owned, managed and controlled by an equity-deserving community. These communities include, but are not limited to, women, Indigenous people, racial minorities/racialized people, veterans, persons with disabilities, newcomers and 2SLGBTQI+ community.
A social enterprise is a business that generates the majority of its revenue from the sales of goods and/or services, it has a defined social, cultural or environmental purpose, and it reinvests majority (at least 51%) of its profits or surplus back into its purpose.
