Community Tree Planting

​The City hosts several community tree planting events throughout the year.​

Registrations for 2024 are now closed.

Each year the City offers a school tree planting in honour of Earth Day. This is an event for Brampton elementary schools. Event activities and lessons include tree planting, information about pollinators, instructions on tree monitoring, and the benefits of trees. The event can accommodate up to 100 students.

  • Cost: Free of charge
  • Time: 3-4 hours
  • Location: Various Brampton Parks

The National Tree Day Planting Event occurs during the third Wednesday in September. This is an event for elementary schools. Event activities and lessons include tree planting, information about pollinators, instructions on tree monitoring, and the benefits of trees. The event can accommodate up to 100 students.

  • Location: Various Brampton parks

In partnership with the Toronto & Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), the City hosts an annual Scouts/Guides and Community Tree planting event. This collaborative event has been held for over 25 years and the community is welcome to register for the event.

This years event will take place on Saturday, September 28th from 10am - 12pm at Gore Meadows Community Centre

 Planting Day Tips

​​
  • Please wear comfortable clothing and sturdy closed-toe shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty.
  • Bring water in a reusable container you can take home with you. Help make this a litterless event!
  • Remember to wear sunscreen and weather-appropriate clot​hing.
  • Gloves and shovels are provided.

Tree Dedication Program

The City offers a tree dedication program, whereby member of the public can purchase a tree that will be planted in a City park as a form of remembrance of a loved one, celebration of a birth, honouring a retiree, or any other event that should be commemorated by a living tribute.
