BRAMPTON, ON (July 10, 2025) – Mayor Patrick Brown’s Hockey Night in Brampton welcomes the return of Porter Martone, the sixth overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, to this year’s growing all-star lineup. Martone is coming off an outstanding season with the Brampton Steelheads, finishing with 37 goals and 98 points in 57 games, and representing Team Canada at the World Juniors.

A returning player from last year’s Hockey Night in Brampton, Martone is joined by fellow Steelheads Gabriel Chiarot, a 2024 Vancouver Canucks draft pick; Mason Zebeski, a Pittsburgh Penguins development camp invitee; and standout OHL Guelph Storm goaltender Brayden Gillespie.
Together, this talented group of Steelheads reflects the strength of Brampton’s hockey development and adds fresh energy to an already star-studded lineup that includes NHL All-Star Curtis Joseph, Norris Trophy Winner Mark Giordano, and returning fan favourites Dylan Strome, Liam Foudy, Erik Gudbranson and Jack McBain. All players are joining this year’s game in support of Brampton’s second hospital, with proceeds going to the William Osler Health System Foundation to help bring expanded health care to our growing community.

Player Profiles
Porter Martone
Drafted sixth overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2025 NHL Draft, Porter Martone is one of the top young forwards in the game. He recorded 37 goals and 98 points in 57 games with the Brampton Steelheads last season and helped lead Team Canada at the 2025 World Juniors. Known for his physical, high-energy style of play, Martone has also represented Team Canada at the IIHF World Junior Championship and is poised to be a major impact player in the NHL.
Gabriel Chiarot
Gabriel Chiarot was selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2024 NHL Draft and played the 2024–25 season with the North Bay Battalion (OHL), recording 22 goals and 47 points in 61 games. Known for his two-way reliability, speed, and hockey IQ, Chiarot continues to climb the ranks as a strong all-around forward with NHL potential.
Mason Zebeski
Mason Zebeski wrapped up a strong 2024–25 season with the Brampton Steelheads, finishing with 18 goals and 36 points in 58 games. A gritty, dependable forward, Zebeski earned an invite to the Pittsburgh Penguins’ 2025 Development Camp for his physical play, versatility, and leadership qualities.
Brayden Gillespie
Brayden Gillespie had a standout season with the Guelph Storm in 2024–25, posting a .908 save percentage and 2.87 GAA across 42 games. Known for his quick glove, poise under pressure and ability to read the play, Gillespie is gaining attention as one of the OHL’s most promising goaltenders.
