BRAMPTON, ON (August 22, 2025) – The City of Brampton has appointed Andy Glynn as Interim Fire Chief of Brampton Fire and Emergency Services (BFES), effective August 25, 2025.
Andy brings more than 35 years of leadership experience in municipal and provincial fire services. His expertise will provide operational stability while advancing the continued development of the BFES team.
He served 17 years as Deputy Fire Chief with the Oakville Fire Department, overseeing Emergency Management, Administration, Training, Fire Prevention, and Public Education. He coordinated emergency response during the COVID-19 pandemic, led major capital projects, and provided strategic oversight on emergency planning for high-profile events. Andy also held senior positions with the Office of the Fire Marshal. His contributions to the fire service profession have been recognized through awards such as the OAFC Mark Diotte Leadership Award.
The City of Brampton acknowledges the continued dedication of BFES staff and leadership throughout this period and looks forward to working with Interim Fire Chief Glynn in advancing service delivery for residents.
