​​BRAMPTON, ON – The City of Brampton, in partnership with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, will host an information session on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 7 to 10 pm for potential candidates and third party advertisers in the 2026 Municipal Election.

The information session will be offered in both in person and virtual formats. Participants can attend in person in the Council Chambers at City Hall at 2 Wellington St. W. or attend virtually via Teams. All attendees must register in advance at brampton.ca/bramptonvotes. Registrations must be received no later than April 17, 2026, at 4:30 pm.

The session will provide an overview of key requirements, including candidate and third party advertiser eligibility and responsibilities, the nomination and registration process, campaign finances, as well as information on key dates and resources.

The presentation will be available on the City’s website​ after the session.

  • The session is open to anyone who is considering becoming a candidate or registering as a third party advertiser in the upcoming 2026 Municipal Election.
  • Information on becoming a candidate or third party advertiser can be found on the Brampton Votes website.
  • The candidate nomination period begins on Friday, May 1 and ends on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 2 pm.
  • Third party advertiser registration period begins on Friday, May 1 and closes on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 4:30 pm.
  • Advance voting takes place on October 9, 10, 11, 16 and 17, 2026.
  • Voting Day is Monday, October 26. 2026.
