​BRAMPTON, ON – The City of Brampton will begin improvements to Heart Lake Bus Terminal, located on Conestoga Drive, starting Monday, October 5. The improvements will include upgraded terminal infrastructure and accessibility enhancements, including new boarding platforms with indicator surfaces, improved terminal lighting and new tactile walking surfaces.

​During construction, Heart Lake Bus Terminal will be temporarily closed and bus stops within the terminal will be relocated to nearby on-street locations. The following Brampton Transit routes will be impacted:

• Route 7/7A Kennedy Southbound – Temporary stop on Conestoga Drive, east of Somerset Drive
• Route 7 Kennedy Northbound – Temporary stop on Conestoga Drive, east of Somerset Drive
• Route 2 Main – Temporary stop on Conestoga Drive, east of Somerset Drive
• Route 28/28A Wanless – Temporary stop on Conestoga Drive, east of Somerset Drive
• School Special Routes 201, 202, 203, 204 and 218 – Temporary stop on Conestoga Drive, east of Somerset Drive
  

Residents and transit riders can expect construction noise, temporary eastbound lane reductions on Conestoga Drive and pedestrian detours around the terminal. Noise-generating work will be limited to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, in accordance with the City’s Noise By-law. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
