Grow Green Environmental Awards


Congratulations to this year's Grow Green Award Winners

Brampton's Grow Green Environmental Awards is a biennial awards program that recognizes outstanding individuals, businesses, and organizations from across the city that have demonstrated environmental leadership and have significantly contributed to the ​Grow Green Vision of conserving, enhancing and balancing our natural and built environments to create a healthy, sustainable and resilient Brampton.

The Grow Green Environmental Awards provide an opportunity to understand and promote the environment​al initiatives taking place across the city, foster a sense of community, and provide education and engagement around environmental initiatives, and encourage others to take action.

This year's Grow Green Environmental Awards Ceremony were held during the 2026 Grow Green Festival on Saturday June 6, 2026 at Jim Archdekin Recreation Center.

Award Categories

The Grow Green Awards features a total of 4 award categories. 

Climate Change Award

To recognize an individual and a business/organization that has significantly contributed to advancing climate change mitigation and/or climate change adaptation awareness and outreach.

Stewardship Award

To recognize an individual and a business/organization that has significantly contributed to the advancement of environmental sustainability initiatives related to the conservation and/or stewardship of trees, natural heritage system, water, and/or the reduction of waste.

Environmental Youth Award

To recognize an individual or youth group that have significantly contributed to the advancement of environmental protection, climate change actions, and/or sustainability in Brampton.

Environmental Legacy Award

To recognize an individual that has demonstrated outstanding personal service and ongoing contributions to advance the Grow Green Vision of conserving, enhancing and managing our natural and built environments to create a healthy, resilient and sustainable city. This award is provided only once per Council term.

​​​The nomination period was from January to March and the nominees met the following criteria:

  1. All nominees must be a Brampton resident, business, institution or organization. Organizations whose head office is located outside of Brampton may be eligible if it can be demonstrated that work is undertaken in Brampton that benefits the city. 
  2. Activities and/or projects must be carried out in Brampton. 
  3. Nominees must demonstrate that their activities/projects have contributed to achieving the Grow Green Vision​ and sustainability of the city. 
  4. Award recipients can be nominated in subsequent years, however, any project/activity can only be awarded once, with the exception of the Environmental Legacy Award. ​
