What is the One Million Trees Program?

The Brampton 2040 Vision calls for the planting of one million trees by 2040 to grow the urban forest, mitigate and adapt to climate change, and foster the delivery of ecosystem services.

In February 2020, Brampton Council approved the Brampton One Million Trees Program - a framework for the City and its partners to increase tree planting initiatives and realize the target of one million trees by 2040.

We all have an important role to play in helping Brampton achieve its one million new tree goal, whether through planting on our own properties, participating in the tree planting events, spreading the word about the importance of planting trees, and the Brampton One Million Tree program, and/or donating resources to support tree planting across the city.

Have You Recently Planted a Tree? Let us Know!

The City has launched an online tree planting tracker tool to help monitor and report progress toward achieving the one million new tree goal. If you have recently planted a tree, record it on our tree planting tracker.
