This public art initiative is part of the My Neighbourhood Art Project, a series of site-specific, temporary art installations created in collaboration with the local community.

"Summer Memories" reflects the natural landscape of Professor's Lake and its surrounding area. Many families of diverse backgrounds utilize the water and park during summer to enjoy the outdoors. Animals such as rabbits, hawks and cranes live in this environment as well. The mural serves as a colourful celebration of what Brampton's natural spaces have to offer us, and a reminder to respect and protect nature so we can enjoy it for many years to come.

Inspired by conversations with community members, the mural captures the personal connections people have with Professor's Lake. Residents shared fond memories of swimming in the lake, spending time with family and friends, and encountering familiar animals that have become regular visitors to the area. Together, these stories celebrate the beauty of the landscape and the lasting memories it creates.
