This year’s exhibition celebrates Brampton's 50th birthday
BRAMPTON, ON (June 7, 2024) – In partnership with the City of Brampton, the Brampton Arts Organization (BAO) is announcing the selection of 50 local creatives to be part of its PIXEL: Digital Art Exhibition. This year’s creatives come from a diverse background of artistic disciplines such as dance, quilting, animation and photography. In celebration of Brampton's 50th birthday since incorporating in 1974, artists were invited to submit their work, capturing the essence of Brampton's past, present and future.
Each month from June to December 2024, up to seven digital artworks and films will be featured twice daily, with content running from 12-1 pm and 6-7 pm, on a 24’ LED screen at Garden Square in downtown Brampton. Digital art will also be featured at BAO’s office and Brampton’s social media channels, with the potential for additional features throughout the city.
Since 2021, BAO’s PIXEL: Digital Art Exhibition has exhibited the work of more than 130 Brampton creatives. BAO serves as a catalyst of creativity and community. Through initiatives such as PIXEL: Digital Art Exhibition, BAO aims to connect the community through art and to celebrate and showcase local talent.

About PIXEL Digital Art Exhibition
PIXEL invites Brampton artists to submit works across a variety of chosen themes and ideas. From music videos to animation and photographs, from painting to visual works, all genres and mediums are celebrated. From the big screen in Garden Square, artworks are now captured on a series of postcards distributed at events across the GTA, further promoting the artists and their practices. Over 10,000 Brampton artist postcards have been distributed. A range of themes, like Summer of Love and Brampton Reverb, have been explored. The program has, furthermore, provided specific support to Black and Indigenous artists.
