​Advance Brampton Fund

​The City of Brampton recognizes the unique and valuable role that the non-profit sector plays in delivering projects that meet community needs and complement City services. The Advance Brampton Fund is a community granting program that supports non-profit sector development and provides municipal funding to eligible Brampton-based non-profit or charitable organizations for strong project proposals that align with the following priority areas:

  • Arts and Culture
  • Recreation
  • Community Safety​

 2023/2024 Announcements

  • ​The 2023 Advance Brampton Fund Program is closed with no new funding opportunities available for projects being delivered in 2023.
  • If you are delivering or have delivered ABF funded projects for the 2023 project year and still need to submit a Project Close Out Report the 2023 Advance Brampton Fund Guidelines are available at the bottom this page, for reference in completing reporting​ requirements.
  • The 2024 Advance Brampton Fund Program will Call for Applications on October 2, 2023.
  • If you are thinking about applying to the 2024 Advance Brampton Fund Program please review the information on this site and in the 2024 Advance Brampton Fund Guidelines to learn about the changes to the program.
    • Some changes to the 2024 program include:
      • ​Renaming of the Emerging Stream to the New and Small Project Stream
      • Removal of the matching fund requirement in the New and Small Project Stream
      • Changes to the applications and scoring in all streams.​​

Available Funding Streams​

The 2024 Advance Brampton Fund offers three funding streams:

Developing - Closed

Funding to be allocated: $500,000*

Eligible Organizations: Registered Charities and Incorporated Non-Profits

Maximum Available Grant: Up to $12,500 in matching project funds to a maximum of 50% of project expenses.

Application Intake: ​Open: October 2, 2023 | Deadline: November 22, 2023 | Announcements: January 2024

Project Types: This stream of funding is designed to support a project that has been run successfully at least once before in Brampton. Funding is provided to help grow a project's reach, participant engagement and overall impact.


Amplifying - Closed


Funding to be allocated: $750,000*

Eligible Organizations: Registered Charities, Incorporated Non-Profits

Maximum Available Grant: Up to $25,000 in matching project funds to a maximum of 50% of project expenses

Application Intake: Open: October 2, 2023 | Close: November 22, 2023 | Announcements: January 2024

Project Types: This stream of funding is designed to support a project that has been run at least twice before in Brampton. Funding is provided to elevate the project's reach, participant​ engagement and overall impact.


New and Small Projects - Application Intake 1 Closed

Funding to be allocated: First Call: $125,000* | Second Call: $125,000*

Eligible Organizations: Registered Charities, Incorporated Non-Profits and Unincorporated Non-Profit Groups

Maximum Available Grant: Up to $5,000 (Please note the removal of the match requirement in this funding stream).

Application Intake 1: CLOSED | Announcements: January 2024.

Application Intake 2*: Open: February 29, 2024 | Second Deadline: March 28, 2024 | Announcements: May 2024

Project Types: This stream of funding is designed to support new and smaller projects providing essential grants to nurture their growth


​All Streams

  • One (1) application to the New and Small Projects Stream and one (1) application to either the Amplifying or Developing streams can be supported provided they are unique projects.
  • All applicant organizations must carry $2,000,000 in Commercial General Liability Insurance from the time the application is submitted until the end of the project duration as outlined within the application.
  • All projects must take place between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024

Applicants are responsible for ensuring they have provided all of the documentation needed to support their application at the time of submission.

APPLY NOW​

​How to Access Applications:​​

  1. Click on the 'APPLY NOW' button above.
  2. Use your Advance Brampton Fund Grants Portal login information or create a user account using the 'Login' and 'Register' buttons in the top right corner of the screen.
  3. Once logged your "My Applications" screen will show.​ This screen shows previously submitted applications and any open or unfinished applications returning users have to complete. It will also include any 2021 Close Out Reports that are still pending.
  4. Click 'Programs' in the top right corner of the screen.
  5. This screen shows all of the open granting streams. Select the one you wish to apply to (2023 Developing or 2023 Amplifying) and click 'Start'. At this time the application will launch. ​​


Grant Information Sessions

​2024 Advance Brampto​n Fund Grant Information Sessions will take place virtually on October 4, October 5, and October 6 between 6pm and 8pm. There are sessions provided for each stream of funding and one session provided on all thre streams. Sessions include content on organization and project eligibility, application questions and review and insight into sound grant writing and management strategy. The program has changed since last year and it is recommended that all applicants attend a 2024 Grant Information Session. Registrations are limited to the first 100, but the All Streams information session will be recorded and provided on this webpage for viewing two days after its delivery. Brampton Non-Profit & Charitable Sector Development Learning Series​

The Advance Brampton Fund in partnership wit​h The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Toronto Metropolitan University is presenting a limited online seminar series to support the development​ and growth of the non-profit and charitable sectors in Brampton. The 2023 program year will offer 8 seminars covering topics that range from fundraising to governance to strategic planning. All of these sessions will be delivered virtually. Links to sessions will be emailed to participants the morning of the session. Sessions are offered only once. Register now because attendance is limited to 30 participants and spaces will fill up fast.​
