Bram West Secondary Plan Review

The Bram West Secondary Plan Area is defined by the Credit River to the north and east, the Town of Halton Hills to the west, and the Highway 407 & City of Mississauga to the south. It is home to a large share of Brampton’s employment lands, with major employers such as Amazon Fulfilment Centres, Canon Canada and Maple Lodge Farms. Alongside its extensive employment areas, Bram West also contains a well-established base of low-density housing. Increasingly, there is interest in introducing higher residential densities and creating complete communities, particularly around the Steeles at Mississauga Major Transit Station Area (MTSA) and Sub-Area 40(a). The southeast portion of West Bram features the historic village of Churchville, a rural area of modest buildings that stands as Brampton’s only designated Heritage Conservation District.

The Bram West Secondary Plan Review aims to establish a draft land use concept, along with updated population and employment forecasts. These elements will guide supporting technical studies and inform future policy, providing the foundation for updating Secondary Plan Area 40 – Bram West.

This exciting project will explore infill and greenfield planning contexts, within the 2,488 hectare area in South West Brampton.
