The Nurturing Neighbourhoods Program is led by City of Brampton, Community Safety and Well-Being Office (CSWO). The Nurturing Neighbourhoods Program is an innovative way to engage Bramptonians and encourage community building. It provides residents with the opportunity to play an active role by sharing their feedback and experiences on a range of topics that matter most in their community.
Our vision is to foster an empowered and connected Brampton where everyone feels safe, has a sense of belonging, and have their needs met.
What is the goal of the Program?
The goal of the program is to meet the commitment from City Council, according to Brampton’s 2040 Vision, to complete a full audit of all neighbourhoods in the City of Brampton. The program now enters its 4th year and we are excited to be visiting fifteen (15) new neighbourhoods across the ten wards of the City. Through this program, we aim to build more relationships with Brampton residents and have meaningful conversations about the specific needs of neigbourhoods. To achieve this, we will gather feedback through conversations and interactions, connect residents with resources, and empower neighbourhood-level civic engagement.
We are proudly sponsored by Enbridge and Alectra and working in close collaboration with The Region of Peel, Peel Regional Police, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, and Credit Valley Conservation. The Topics in the survey will include:
- Arts & Culture
- Communication & Awareness
- Neighbourhood Safety
- Opportunities for Empowerment
- Programs & Activities
- Public Spaces & Resources
The survey will allow staff to collect input and feedback from residents to help guide future city programming, planning, and to help support our residents. If you would like to become a Friend of CSWO, or connect with a member of our team, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
