​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The City of Brampton and its partners in Emergency Preparedness invite you to become a volunteer member of the Brampton CERV.

Many people decide to spontaneously help in an emergency situation and find that they cannot walk away when others are in danger or have been injured. Experience has shown that people will go into dangerous zones, putting themselves at undue risk, even if they are totally unprepared. They can even become victims themselves, placing additional pressures on emergency responders.

You can prepare yourself now to act safely in emergency situations by joining the Brampton CERV.

The Brampton CERV program

The City set up the Brampton CERV program in 2003, in keeping with the City's goal "to remain one of the safest cities in Canada, and to expand its emergency preparedness community programs to stand at the forefront of crisis management.”

• Training: CERV training is offered free of charge by City of Brampton staff, and to anyone over 18 years of age working or living in the City. Participants receive a certificate when they finish the training sessions, which consist of one evening each week for seven weeks.

We also invite members of CERV to help the Brampton Emergency Management Office during a major community emergency, at various events or to attend periodic training, information sessions and general meetings of the CERV.

The CERV program was recognized by Brampton Safe City as one of many agencies contributing to Brampton’s designation as a Safe City by the World Health Organization in 2007.
