Earthquakes can cause rapid and sudden shaking of the earth that can impact people, buildings and road safety.
Do:
- Stay inside if indoors.
- Take cover under heavy furniture or against an inside wall and hold on.
- Stay away from where glass could shatter around windows, mirrors, pictures, or where heavy bookcases or other heavy furniture could fall over.
Don't:
- Don't try to leave a building if it is shaking. Objects could fall on you.
- If outside, don't go near buildings, structures or hydro wires.
- Don't go near buildings even after the quake. There could be aftershocks.
