The Ministry of Transportation's (MTO) Transportation Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe (GGH) (2022) sets the policy direction to help build an integrated region-wide transit system with greater transit access for underserved areas and improved first and last mile connections. The plan envision both enhancements to existing transit and new regional bus connections (public, private, and/ or on-demand services) along the Queen Street-Highway 7 corridor.
The Metrolinx 2041 Regional Transportation Plan identifies Queen Street and Highway 7 as part of the frequent rapid transit network and as a part of the larger transit network in GTHA.
The Brampton Mobility Plan, 2025 identifies the Queen Street Highway 7 corridor for higher order transit (BRT/ LRT) implementation in the short-term to medium-term period.
