We will consult with customers and other stakeholders on service improvement priorities and options for the 2019 Service Plan through seven Public Information Centre events.
We will implement the 2019 Service Plan, adding 81,000 service hours. A majority of these hours will be introduced as part of our September service changes, with the rest by the end of the year.
We will add 18 buses to our fleet:
- 2 – 60 ft Züm hybrid diesel-electric buses
- 7 – 40 ft conventional buses
- 9 – 40 ft conventional buses to replace retired buses
We will install:
- 40 new accessible bus stops
- 15 new bus stops
- 25 new benches
We will purchase land that will be used to build a third Transit facility.
We will strive to reach our target to have 91% of buses depart on time.
Our on-time performance in 2019 was 88.5%.
Severe weather events in the early part of the year, combined with strong ridership growth in the fall and major roadway closures that occurred throughout the year, resulted in on-time performance just below target.
We will make improvements to bramptontransit.com to improve navigation and overall ease of use.
We will do customer satisfaction research to understand rider experience, overall satisfaction for our services and rider demographics.
We will create more inclusive information on how to use Brampton Transit for those with cognitive special needs, and people new to taking public transit.
We will introduce a $15 monthly pass for Brampton Seniors.
|Q4 2019/Q1 2020
We will have our Brampton Transit Senior ID cards available at more locations.
We will establish the Transit Advisory Committee comprised of representatives from the community and Brampton Transit to advise on transit-related issues.
Update: The Transit Advisory Committee was established and approved by
Council in the spring. Committee members are currently being recruited.
We will introduce additional locations for customers to load their PRESTO cards (pilot project).
