Zoning Online

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Zoning regulations affect not only what land uses are permitted on a property but also what can be built, as well as provides other regulations such as lot size, type of buildings, etc.

The City of Brampton has recently approved a new Comprehensive Zoning By-law 14-2026. However, it is currently under appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal. Until the appeals are resolved, both Zoning By-law 270-2004 and Zoning By-law 14-2026 apply with the most restrictive provision from each taking precedence. Residents and applicants should review both by-laws when considering establishing a new use or completing construction on their property.

Search Zoning By-Law 270-2004

After clicking the "I Agree" disclaimer button, the zoning designations and schedules associated with Zoning By-law 270-2004 can be viewed using the City’s Planning Viewer tool by activating the relevant map layers. Users can navigate to the layer list within the viewer and turn on the zoning layer to display applicable zoning categories, boundaries, and schedules for a given property or area.

Zoning by-law 270-2004 is also searchable using the Search the Zoning By-law page. Users can search by General Provision, Category, Type, and Special Section. There are also connections to Schedules and Interim Control By-laws information. Users can also select Property Report to retrieve a Zoning report about a specific property. These tools provide all associated Zoning for the property of interest, available as a hyperlink to the corresponding Zoning documents.​​
