My Submissions and How to Reply to a Reworked Application - FAQs

How do I know if a rework is required for my permit?

When you first submit a permit application to the City of Brampton, it will go through a pre-review process for accuracy. Building Division staff will assess if all the correct documentation is attached.

If the Building Division Staff require more information from you, the status of the permit on the portal will change to Rework Required. You will also receive an email indicating that a rework for your permit application is required. This means you need to take action using the following steps:

  1. Log into the Brampton Building and Business Portal: https://bramptonbbp.brampton.ca/citizenportal/app/login

  2. Scroll to the My Submissions section.

  3. The Status column will display Rework Required.

  4. Click the Rework button.

  5. Read the comment to determine what action to take. Do not click the Rework Completed button until you have attached your supporting documents.

Please note: All the above steps occur at Pre-Review stage only. If you are working on a permit application that is Applied under My Permit Applications on the portal. Please see My Permit Applications and How to Reply to a Reviewed Outstanding Application FAQs.

What if I want to comment back to the Building Division Staff member who reworked my application?

The email you receive about the rework will come from the Customer Service Plans Examiner who reviewed your application. You can reply directly back to the Customer Service Plans Examiner’s email address with any questions you may have regarding your submission.
