Speeding on our municipal roads has been a significant concern for Brampton residents. To enhance road safety, the City of Brampton has implemented Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE). ASE is an automated system that uses a camera and a speed measurement device to help enforce speed limits in community safety zones.
If a vehicle exceeds the posted speed limit in an ASE-enforced area, the ASE system captures an image. This image is reviewed by a provincial offences officer, and if the violation is confirmed, a ticket is issued and mailed to the registered plate holder, regardless of who was driving.
Upon conviction of an individual, the only penalty is a fine – no demerit points are applied.

Transition to the Administrative Penalty System (APS)
The City of Brampton is changing its Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) program. ASE tickets are transitioning to the City’s Administrative Penalty System (APS). The APS process allows residents to dispute tickets with screening and hearing officers, reducing the impact on our courts.
Provincial Offenses Act (POA) tickets issued prior to the transition will continue to be addressed through the courts.
Below is a photo demonstrating the two types of tickets. Please follow the stream based on the ticket you received.
