It is a traffic calming tool designed to make roads safer for all users by capturing images of vehicles exceeding the posted speed limit in community safety zones. How does ASE work? The system captures and records images of vehicles travelling in excess of the posted speed limit. The image is reviewed by a provincial offences officer. The ticket, which contains a digitized copy of the image and an enlargement of the plate portion, is mailed to the registered plate holder – regardless of who was driving. Why was ASE implemented in Brampton? The City of Brampton was one of the first municipalities in Ontario to implement ASE.
