How to Dispute Your Ticket

You have 30 days from the date of the ticket (also known as a Penalty Order) to dispute it. Follow these steps:

Ticket number
Registered Vehicle Owner information

Why you think your ticket should be cancelled or varied
Why any fees should be cancelled or varied
Why you require additional time to pay
Include any supporting documents

Dispute The Penalty Order

If you require an in-person Screening Review, call 3-1-1 or 905.874.2000 to request an appointment.

Have the following information available:

All in-Person Screening reviews are held at the Brampton Provincial Offences Office:

5 Ray Lawson Blvd
Southwest corner of Hurontario Street (Hwy 10) and Ray Lawson Blvd
Hours of operation 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday-Friday
Failure to appear at your scheduled Screening Review may result in additional fees.

If you have not requested a Screening Review within the 30-day window, you may request an extension of time to review within 45 days after the ticket date by following the procedures set out above. You must include the reason you are requesting the extension of time for the screening in your online request. For in-person screenings, the Screening Officer may ask you to provide the reason for requesting the extension of time.

Please note that you cannot request a screening by mail.

Request a Hearing Review

When selecting the hearing appointment request, you must select either an in-person or virtual (online) hearing.

In person hearings are held at 5 Ray Lawson Blvd., Brampton.

Virtual appointments are held via Microsoft Teams. A link will be provided to join the online meeting on the date and time indicated.

You will receive an email with the hearing date, time and appointment details

If you are unable to access the online portal to submit your request, fill out a Request for Hearing Review form and submit by email to APS@brampton.ca.

If you have not requested a Hearing Review within the 30-day window, you may request an extension of time to review within 45 days after you receive the Screening Officer's decision by following the procedures set out above, including the reason for requesting the extension.

If you have not submitted your request within 45 days, you will be deemed to have waived the right to request a hearing.

The Hearing Officer's decision is final and binding decision and not subject to any further review or appeal.

4. If you are not satisfied with the Screening Review decision, you may request a Hearing Review. A request must be made within 30 days following the receipt of the Screening Officer's decision.
