Project Description
The City of Brampton has updated its Transportation Master Plan, the City’s blueprint for strategic transportation planning and direction for the future. The study addresses existing challenges and makes recommendations to provide sustainable transportation solutions to manage the transportation impacts and address travel demand associated with future growth. This master plan update provides the City with creative and realistic solutions based on input from the public, private sector and government agencies. The Master Plan establishes a transportation system to better serve residents, employers, employees and visitors while accommodating all modes of transportation (e.g., public transit, commuter travel, commercial vehicles and active transportation). The Transportation Master Plan Update has also provided input into the transportation components of the City’s Development Charges Background Study/By-Laws Review (2014) which was completed in 2014.
The study was conducted in accordance with the requirements of Phases 1 and 2 of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment, which is an approved process under the Environmental Assessment Act.
Brampton City Council approved the draft Transportation Master Plan in principle on July 8, 2015, pending a 30-day public review period. Please find the final transportation Master Plan Report, and technical background reports below. All comments should be received by Friday October 30, 2015.
