The services that are available on the Brampton Building and Business Portal are as follows.

Permit Applications

A faster and easier way to apply and pay for building permits online.

Features available during permit application submission include:

  • Make a new submission that will be pre-reviewed by Building Staff
  • Reply to re-worked pre-submissions
  • Continue a pre-submission that you previously started
  • View and make payments for permits that are ready for payment
  • Respond to permits that are marked Review Outstanding by our Plans Examiners
  • View issued permits to download permit cards and approved drawings

Property Search

Customers can search for property information or check the status of your permit application on Brampton Maps. This function is useful for checking the status of permit application when it is being reviewed by our Plans Examiner team. Once your permit is issued, you’ll be able to see the status of your inspections on the portal.

Inspection Booking

Customers can book an inspection as a guest or registered user. Registered users will be able to view and manage all inspections through the portal. As a guest, you can use your Permit Number and Authorization Key to book an inspection without creating an account.

Document Services

Customers can make a request for documentation or drawings from the Building Division as a guest or a registered user. Guest services are available under the Non-Registered Services button at www.brampton.ca/bbportal. This is a useful feature if you do not plan to apply for permit applications with the Building Division and the only service you want to use is to purchase documents or drawings.

Signs

The City of Brampton places a high value on the community’s appearance and safety. To maintain an attractive appearance and ensure a safe environment, the City regulates signs to avoid visual clutter and ensure traffic and pedestrian safety. Customers can apply and pay for sign permits online, including portable/mobile signs.

Inspection Recall Fee for ARU Permits:

An Inspection Recall Fee applies to Additional Residential Unit (ARU) permits. ARU permits include Two-Unit and Three-Unit Dwellings, as well as Garden Suites.

  • If your ARU inspection does not pass on two separate occasions, a fee will be charged for any following inspections.
  • This policy is intended to encourage inspection readiness and reduce repeat visits.
