If the facility has a designated viewing area or gallery, spectators may watch from there. For safety reasons, children under 10 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is at least 14 years old who must remain onsite in the facility. For more information, view our Program Admission Standards and Supervision Requirements.Do I need to bring my own equipment?All equipment will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own. Please refer to the program description for specific equipment details (i.e. clean indoor running shoes, etc.). Please note that certain sports require safety equipment that meets industry standards. Participants are responsible for bringing the necessary safety gear, such as a CSA-approved helmet, to be admitted into the program. Does the City of Brampton offer subsidies and support for participants? The City of Brampton offers subsidies and support for qualifying participants. Please visit our website for more information regarding City of Brampton's Program Guidelines and Admission Standards.What is the difference between drop-in and registered programs? Sports drop-in sessions are informal games planned and organized by those in attendance. Drop-in programs are one-time use, pay-as-you-go programs that are not part of a multi-date course. Registered programs offer structured lessons over multiple weeks, focusing on skill progression. Sessional registration is required for registered programs.How are levels of Drop-In Programs measured? All participants are expected to play to the level of those in attendance. Participants are encouraged to register for programs that align with their skill set. This provides an opportunity for all to participate alongside their peers with similar skill level. Please note, minimum and maximum age restrictions are listed in the program title. Good behaviour guidelines must be adhered to during all City of Brampton Programs. How do I know what level to register in? Each program includes a description to help you choose the right level. If you're unsure, check the program details on our website or ask our staff for guidance. Levels are designed to match your skill level for the best experience.How do I create an account and sign up for a drop-in or registered program?Recreation courses can be viewed online at: www.brampton.ca/registerforprograms, you can also register for the course(s) of your choosing by signing up for an account with us if you have not done so already. Registrations can also be completed over the phone by calling 311 or in-person at the customer service desk at any Recreation Centre.Do I need to book a spot for a drop-in ahead of time? Pre-registration is not required for visits to recreation centres, however, it is recommended that visitors register for programs in advance as all services are on a first-come, first-served basis.What’s next after my child completes the highest level?Your child may be interested in joining one of Brampton’s affiliate sports groups. Please see visit our Youth Sports page for more details.How do I check-in for my drop-in? Admission to City of Brampton drop-in programs varies. Speak to a customer service representative and they will be able to direct you. Can I transfer or share my registration with a family member or friend? No, registrations are non-transferable and cannot be shared. Each person must register separately. If you withdraw from a drop-in program, your spot will be available for walk-ins. If you withdraw from a registered program, your spot will go to the next person on the waitlist.What if I am late or do not show for a drop-in program? As a courtesy to fellow community members, please let us know should you need to cancel any reservations. This will ensure that spots that are no longer required can be made available to other members of the community.What is the refund policy for Drop-in and Registered programs? Staff will notify participants of any cancellations by email and phone. You can also, check for posted signs at the facility. Review your registration receipt for planned exception dates.Where are the outdoor public fields and when can they be used? Proper athletic clothing (including a top and bottom), and indoor athletic shoes that are dry and clean must be worn in all program areas. Please do not wear excessively loose, long flowing clothes, chains, belts, buckles and/or metal fasteners. Open-toed shoes, boots and outdoor footwear are also prohibited. Can I take pictures and/or videos? To ensure the privacy of others, filming and/or photography by members of the public and spectators are not permitted during certain registered programs and/or drop-in programming.Recreation staff may take digital images of participants for promotional or marketing purposes with the expressed consent of participants. Additionally, electronic devices are not permitted to be used in change rooms or washrooms. Are lockers available? Yes, most facilities have lockers and quarter lockers available. Locks are not provided by the facility, please bring your own. Lockers are available for day use only and locks and personal belongings must be removed at the end of your visit.Locks left overnight will be removed by staff. The City of Brampton is not responsible for lost or stolen items—please leave valuables at home.How do I cancel a reservation I can no longer attend? Drop-in cancellations and program withdrawals can be made directly from your account using this tutorial.
