The Chinguacousy Park Winter Tennis Membership is not valid at this new facility. For the 2024/2025 winter tennis season, no membership is required to book a court time at Rosalea. However, pre-registration is required for programs and court bookings. Do I need a membership to book a court? Please note that for the 2024/2025 winter tennis season, no membership will be required to book a court time. However, pre-registration is required for programs and court bookings. Will the dome remain up year round?The tennis dome will be up from late fall to early spring. During the winter months, the dome will be available for court time bookings and focus on youth programming and events. Once the dome is removed, courts will be available for public use, similar to the City’s other tennis courts. Is my 70+ Free Recreation Membership valid at this location? Tennis memberships and court bookings are not included in the 70+ free membership. The facility programming will be led by internationally recognized tennis leader Karl Hale (current Tournament Director of the National Bank Open), and long-time Brampton tennis leader. Premier Racquet Clubs have two other municipally partnered locations, one in Markham and one in Mississauga. This provides Brampton residents, specifically youth, a local option for both entry level and high-performance tennis, ensuring that Brampton talent is able to train and play in the City in which they live, and retaining talent. The City of Brampton will continue to provide foundational programming at both this location and Chinguacousy Park to ensure that all residents have the opportunity to participate in tennis programs at a variety of skill levels and price points.Will the tennis lights shine onto residential buildings?All floodlights are aimed downward at the court within the fenced area, with no light directed at adjacent buildings. The directional LED lights provide precise control.Will there be enough trees planted between the tennis dome and the building to provide sufficient coverage?Twelve new trees have been planted between the tennis facility and 53 Church Street E. Additional planting is not recommended, as the current spacing ensures adequate room for the trees to mature properly.What time do the tennis courts finish playing?The planned hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., aligning with the City’s tennis court hours during the summer months.Are there plans to utilize the dome as an alternative relocation site for the homeless from encampments?No. For additional questions relating to encampments, please contact the Region of Peel or visit their website here.
