Explore Brampton Youth Pass

Youth ages 12 to 16 years old are invited to apply for the Explore Brampton Youth Pass for an opportunity to access free Transit services and Recreation drop-in programs during the summer.

Returning this year, 2,500 Explore Brampton Youth Passes will be made available to qualifying applicants. Pass holders will have free access to Brampton Transit services and Recreation drop-in programs including swimming, skating, and select sports from July 1 to September 6.

Priority will be given to vulnerable youth, through the ActiveAssist Program, the Region of Peel's Affordable Transit Program, the Region of Peel's (ROP) Neighbourhood Information Tool, and referrals from youth-serving providers and outreach.

Eligibility

Brampton residents born between September 2, 2010 and September 1, 2014 are eligible to apply.

Youth accepted into the program will need to watch a brief orientation video and visit select Recreation centres to pick up their pass. Program participants will be will be asked to complete a brief survey at the end of the program about their experience.

Using the Explore Brampton Youth Pass

Passes provide free access to select drop-in programs at Brampton recreation centres and free access to Brampton Transit services. Each time a pass holder wants to ride Transit or participate in a drop-in program, they are required to present their pass. Each pass holder receives a unique pass with their photo. Passes cannot be shared and are not transferrable. The photo of the applicant is required solely to ensure that the Youth Pass is not transferred. Any improper transferring to a third party of the Youth Pass can result in the Pass being forfeited immediately.

Am I eligible to apply for the Explore Brampton Youth Pass?
All youth who live in Brampton, and are born between September 2, 2010 and September 1, 2014 are eligible to apply.
How do I apply?
To apply, complete the Explore Brampton Youth Pass application online before May 17, 2026 at 5 pm. You will need to provide proof of Brampton address, proof of age and a photo to complete your application.
Do I need a referral to apply?
No, a referral is not required to apply for the Explore Brampton Youth Pass.
I’ve been accepted into the Explore Brampton Youth Pass program. How can I learn about using recreation services and Brampton Transit?
Prior to the start of the program, you will receive a welcome email from City of Brampton Recreation with detailed instructions and a link to an orientation video. After reviewing the email and watching the orientation video, additional questions can be directed to explorebramptonyouthpass@brampton.ca.

For ages 14 to 16 year olds only: Drop-In Fitness Floor (only available between Monday and Friday from 10 am to 3 pm)
I have been approved for a pass and I am 12 to 13 years old. Why can’t I use the fitness floor at a recreation centre?
You are unable to use your pass at the fitness floor as the minimum age to utilize a City of Brampton fitness facility is 14 years old.
What should I bring as proof of identification to pick up my pass?
To pick up your pass, you must present a piece of identification with your name on it. Some examples include: student card, provincial health card, passport, permanent resident card, birth certificate, driver's license or Ontario photo ID Card.
When will my pass be available and where can I pick it up?
Passes will be available for pick-up beginning June 1, 2026 at the recreation centre location that was selected on your application form.

If you have forgotten which location you selected in your application, you can also find it in your welcome email.
I have lost my pass, what should I do?
If you have lost your pass, email explorebramptonyouthpass@brampton.ca with your contact information including name, address and email address to verify your identification.
Am I entitled to a transfer when I use the pass on Brampton Transit?
No, transfers are not issued to Explore Brampton Youth Pass users. Please show your pass to the operator when boarding Brampton Transit buses.
Can I use the pass on other Transit Agencies?
No, the Explore Brampton Youth Pass is accepted on Brampton Transit only.

I forgot my pass – can I ride Brampton Transit for free?
If you have forgotten your Explore Brampton Youth Pass, you will be required to pay a fare with cash or your PRESTO card.
